Beginners

Beginners are welcome in the School of Yoga. If you are new to Yoga will find it is a wonderful, never-ending pursuit which will feel new every time you practise for many years.

The first part of each class is designated for individual practice and intoducing new students to the basic principles of Yoga. In the main part of class time we all work together – approximately - and individual assistance is offered whenever it is needed.

You will be encouraged to practise according to your ability. Posture improvement is effected initially through relaxation of muscles, subsequently the muscles are strengthened in more advanced postures. Physical practice is always followed by deep relaxation using both muscle release and guided inner journey images. The mind-body relationship is explored in depth and improved.

What to Wear

Loose-fitting or easy stretch clothes, e.g. sports or dance type, plus a warm pullover or tracksuit to wear during relaxation. Shoes are left at the door of the Yoga room, as they are not worn for Yoga practice. Socks are optional.
